<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuD0BFheigOUVgM5yT6o3diOH9TKyzGtqWLSP_AnsaBVPTel1jCe2UvFVnPjVjzdBODlV7WdgJd722LpAom7e7-z5W3r7mtvXE8y3O9bQZBz7znTIJbTdUM0ocwZvr-fDsIO6N4hB4KDI/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="336" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuD0BFheigOUVgM5yT6o3diOH9TKyzGtqWLSP_AnsaBVPTel1jCe2UvFVnPjVjzdBODlV7WdgJd722LpAom7e7-z5W3r7mtvXE8y3O9bQZBz7znTIJbTdUM0ocwZvr-fDsIO6N4hB4KDI/s640/1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
After the original Star Wars (A New Hope) this second piece of the Disney studio is the best ever Star Wars movie. I had a good opinion also about <a href="http://movie-zin.blogspot.com.ee/2015/12/the-force-awakens.html"><span style="color: blue;">The Force Awakens</span></a> last year so let's say I am someone who doesn't mind that Disney continues the saga.<br />
<br />
Why I like Rogue One?<br />
<br />
- More realistic than any other Star Wars movie. I remember in the 80's we loved the sound effects, the tiny details and the creation of a new Universe. Disney raised this to a new level. Vehicles are dirty, the scenes show not only a shiny future but a lot of suffering, too.<br />
- People die, even the loved ones. Ok, since the Game of Thrones we learned that story lines and schemes are changing nowadays. And if even Star Wars, that has been always the fairy tale of fairy tales, is able to make this step it's really something. We enter to a rough world (I mean in the reality) and better to get used to it (in our fairy tales, too).<br />
- Rogue One gave a weight to"A new hope" by showing how many sacrifices are behind even a small success.<br />
<br />
I also want to emphasize <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0578853/"><span style="color: blue;">Ben Mendelson</span></a> in the movie. I saw him in Bloodline last year and he impressed me a lot with his extremely controversial character. A saw a little bit of this ability of him in this Star Wars movie, too.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8317312911695650166.post-68308071119787758452016-12-11T02:36:00.000-08:002016-12-11T02:36:31.150-08:00Pustina<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi61DCf24yOzWdKpiJ43gEC01aHzQDztyBK8mLIcfX4N2tJDNQ8dB4Ctv3JM_S7nHVUF99rL2IekYckBfQDAnvx8OIDuyXMijUNID95KpuJ5ql_9sAPGqVrdAWLOmwGTUbWbITf6W3pZ4Q/s1600/pustina_0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="272" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi61DCf24yOzWdKpiJ43gEC01aHzQDztyBK8mLIcfX4N2tJDNQ8dB4Ctv3JM_S7nHVUF99rL2IekYckBfQDAnvx8OIDuyXMijUNID95KpuJ5ql_9sAPGqVrdAWLOmwGTUbWbITf6W3pZ4Q/s400/pustina_0.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am a big fan of Czech movies. The Czech New Waves filmmakers are my favorite ones. I think Milos Forman or Jiri Menzel contributed a lot to my Eastern European identity and to the way I see and understand the world today. It is my culture. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And over the last 25 years I missed very much something that can express this culture on the language of film. Ok, maybe there were many valuable and good art movies or locally broadcasted productions but it is part of the story that these movies never reach us. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A couple of weeks ago I traveled to New York. For the first time in my life. And spite of the fact that I have never been there I had a feeling that I knew those streets, the city was familiar to me, simply because of the movies.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Isn't it ironic that we usually know tiny details from New York or Chicago just because of the tons of movies coming from there but we hardly know anything about our own neighbour country? Or about our own country's countryside. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Czech <a class="" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5459168/"><span style="color: blue;">Pustina</span></a> is an HBO drama and I have to admit that HBO has done a great job how to combine commercial needs with a sort of depth that brings back the special favour of Czech movies and Eastern Europen movies in general. And it is very important, that all this happens on one of the largest cable TV networks and not only in exclusive art movies or film festivals reaching a handful of people only. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We need it. We build something in the "new Europe" that needs continuous (self)reflection. Films, cinema, movies are the best tools for that. I am thankful to HBO that they started to create new, local production instead of invading us with a next wave of Hollywood movies. Later I will also write about the Hungarian Aranyélet or the Romanian Umbre, which are also local HBO productions opening new tendencies to the Eastern European filmmaking scene. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<i>"Pustina tells a story that goes to the heart of the economic and social challenges facing communities in the new Europe,"</i> said Antony Root, London-based executive vp programming and production for HBO Europe. <i>"It is also a page-turning mystery. We believe both the story and its themes will resonate strongly with our audiences." (<a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hbo-europes-pustina-drama-premiere-899309"><span style="color: blue;">source</span></a>)</i><br />
<i><br /></i> Indeed, it resonated.....<br />

Sherlock is back and I love it. To be honest, I didn't believe that the Sherlock Holmes story can make me ever again interested. How many movies, TV series, different adaptations we could see? Benedict Cumberbatch made to forget all about them! I love the new special edition.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I would give 8/10 to the movie. Acutally I liked it very much. I do not mind that Disney took over ther saga as technically and visually it became much much strong and better than the three previous Star Wars movie.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The strongest impact on me was however the appearance of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamil in the movie. The meeting of Princess Leia and Han Solo was not only a meeting of two movie characters but suddenly I felt myself flying back to 1983 and I met my own childhood, too. Thank you for that moments, whatever we think about the movie its obviously became part of our life.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
But basically I like the movie as a movie, too. Some says its a fairy tale. Yes it is, as majority of the highly valued ancient Greek dramas that we consider nowadays as a heritage of the human history. Star Wars is a modern (Greek) drama.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I also loved the first season but this second one is simply incredible. Maybe because here I do not know the story, or maybe because they learned enough from season 1 that in a TV series they have enough time to build up the characters. Its simply hilarious.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
House of Cards is an American political drama television series. Set in present-day Washington, D.C., House of Cards is the story of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democrat from South Carolina's 5th congressional district and House majority whip who, after being passed over for appointment as Secretary of State, initiates an elaborate plan to get himself into a position of greater power, aided by his wife, Claire Underwood (Robin Wright)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The most scary for me in this series is that I know this type of people in my own environment. The drama is exaggerating but the attitude exists. Maybe they are not killing people and they do not play on the level of the White House, but this heartless cruel games are very familiar to me. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I don't know, maybe this is a gender issue but I especially hate the woman. Robin Wright is great in this movie making all my cells to hate her while she is acting as the wife of Frank Underwood.</div>

<br />
The Knick is very scary movie. Its not a horror, because horror movies are usually unrealistic. This is worse. This is the real (his)tory of medical science showing the early XXth Century New York in a way that I bless God I was born 70 years after.<br />
<br />
The Knick is a medical drama set in the 1900s charts the exploits of the staff and patients at a New York hospital, where they try to maintain their reputation for quality care while struggling to keep the doors open.<br />
<br />
What I really loved was the Soundtrack of the movie:

Chef is a great family movie about a father who finds his way to his son. On the other hand its a funny comedy with a lot of Hollywood stars who are interestingly in the background while the main actor is <span style="color: blue;"><a href="http://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/jon_favreau/"><span style="color: blue;">Jon Favreau</span></a> </span>who I never seen before. It is definitely worth to watch on a cozy Sunday afternoon. Be careful, you will want to eat a Cuban sandwich after the movie!:)<br />

The new sci-fi movie of Antonio Banderas seems to be very interesting. Jacq Vaucan, an insurance agent of ROC robotics corporation, routinely investigates the case of manipulating a robot. What he discovers will have profound consequences for the future of humanity. Here you can see the trailer:</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Utopia is one of the most bizarre TV series I have ever seen. First of all it is beautifully photograhed. Every single moment of the film is like a painting. On the other hand it is extremelly brutal and violent. They are killing children in almost every episodes, torture, blood and murder is overflowing. To be honest it is too much for me.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgeksHwR36l5EozHJf9uBMBYof1IhroNbZBNX59wAZqtsxZQLaxVVKQGtJ4gYTkgXy7QVbGij-oExaYr_MnCZD0wLxVE5pQH98S3am2buKx9zlIaCnyriPmrmMIkpHY_dloGLuRMZ9s30/s1600/utopia2-528290.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgeksHwR36l5EozHJf9uBMBYof1IhroNbZBNX59wAZqtsxZQLaxVVKQGtJ4gYTkgXy7QVbGij-oExaYr_MnCZD0wLxVE5pQH98S3am2buKx9zlIaCnyriPmrmMIkpHY_dloGLuRMZ9s30/s1600/utopia2-528290.jpg" width="500" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
But still the series is sort of childish, more like a cartoon or a comics and very often funny, too. In this way it is similar to Tarantino's movies where everything, including violence, is a symbol or a metaphore only. We do not have to take it serious. Why not to play...</div>

<b>The Bear</b> (known as L'Ours in its original release) is a 1988 French film directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud. Adapted from the novel The Grizzly King (1916) by American author James Oliver Curwood, the screenplay was written by Gérard Brach. Set in late 19th-century British Columbia, Canada, the film tells the story of an orphaned bear cub who befriends an adult male grizzly as hunters pursue them through the wild. Several of the themes explored in the story include orphanhood, peril and protection, and mercy toward and on the behalf of a reformed hunter.

When his mother, who has sheltered him his entire 40 years, dies, Elling, a sensitive, would-be poet, is sent to live in a state institution. There he meets Kjell Bjarne, a gentle giant and female-obsessed virgin in his 40s. After two years, the men are released and provided with a state-funded apartment and stipend with the hope they will be able to live on their own. Initially, the simple act of going around the corner for groceries is a challenge. Through a friendship born of desperate dependence, the skittish Elling and the boisterous, would-be lover of women, Kjell Bjarne, discover they can not only survive on the outside, they can thrive. But as their courage grows, the two find oddball ways to cope with society, striking up the most peculiar friendships in the most unlikely places.</div>

After serving together in the French Foreign Legion, a mercenary and a doctor leave the service and go their separate ways. Later, they are reunited by a coincidence. The doctor has made a promise to a friend which involves his breaking into a safe to return some improperly removed bearer bonds. When he hides in an office building to accomplish his task, he is followed by the mercenary, who is out to steal the contents of the safe. Locked inside the building together, they reluctantly agree to cooperate in cracking the safe. However, surprises await them both and in the end, they both must rely on 'the honor among thieves' to straighten everything out. Written by Tad Dibbern

Thirteen-year-old twin brothers are forced to shack up with their evil, country-bumpkin grandmother during World War II in Le Grand Cahier, Hungarian director János Szász's rather detached adaptation of Agota Kristof's heart-rending, French-language best-seller The Notebook. Technically almost too immaculate, the film smoothens many of the original's rough edges, replacing the book's unreliable and disturbing children's point of view with a distancing voice-over, cute animated sequences and two stone-faced performances that make it hard to care about these identical siblings who decide to train themselves in cruelty so they'll stand a better chance of surviving the war. I never understood people who took Quentin Tarantono's movies serious. The guy is obviously a player. Playing with styles, recalling old movies and creating masterpiece from junk. He and his movies are like when 13 years old guys are playing. Everything is brutal but nothing is serious. </div>

On the other hand there is something dramatic in Django. Not the story and the talkative characters. But the way the movie pictures the suffer of slaves in the pre-civil war US. I have seen many western movies and Django is not brutal because of the ridiculously lot of blood. But because of the pain of black people in the movie.
